Food Story

Buss developed an interest in food at a young age. Her mom loved to cook and often involved her in preparing family dinners. She remembers loving being in the kitchen with her mom—especially around the holiday season when they would bake batches and batches of holiday cookies to share with friends and family. As a teenager, Buss’ interest in food expanded to include not only food, but nutrition and the impact what we eat has on the human body. During her senior year of college, she decided to pursue her love of food and nutrition, and made plans to study nutrition at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she completed the MPH/RDN program. To this day, Buss still loves food, but also cares deeply about ensuring others have yummy, nutritious and plentiful food to eat.
