Food Story

As an undergraduate student, Floyd Clark studied nutrition and has previously worked as a nutrition counselor. Floyd Clark has always loved to eat, but it wasn’t until years later when she took a part-time job at her local farmers’ market that she learned about the importance of local food systems, food sovereignty, and the extent of food insecurity in the United States. This work motivated Floyd Clark to go back to school to get her MPH so that she could have a bigger impact in changing the food systems where she lived. Floyd Clark is still a foodie and loves to support small, local food producers. She is always researching the farmers’ markets in her vacation locations and hopes to pass along this love and respect for their food makers to her daughter.
