CNHI WIC Online Shopping Implementation Support Initiative

Expanding WIC online shopping and healthy food access to more families

About the Initiative

The Center for Nutrition & Health Impact (CNHI) is launching a new WIC Online Shopping Implementation Support Initiative to provide families with more flexibility and efficiency in using their Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) benefits through online shopping. This initiative can help increase WIC benefit utilization and improve healthy food access and health outcomes for millions of families nationwide.

Funding Opportunity

As part of this initiative, CNHI released a funding opportunity to support WIC State agencies in implementing WIC online shopping with one or more WIC-authorized vendors of their choice, consistent with the project aim of maximizing WIC online shopping access. View the Request for Proposals (RFP) below.

Implementation Support

CNHI will provide funded WIC State agencies and their partners with project support and technical assistance to help ensure successful implementation of scalable and compliant WIC online shopping solutions into their operations.

This initiative provides a pathway for WIC State agencies to expand and modernize the WIC shopping options offered in their jurisdiction. It builds upon strong momentum already underway, including the encouraging results and positive feedback from WIC agencies and participants in areas that already implemented WIC online shopping. This project is distinct from CNHI’s WICShop+ website and the associated projects.
