Main takeaways and highlights: Each year, SNEB’s international conference provides nutrition professionals the opportunity to explore the latest in nutrition education and behavior change research, practice and policy. This year's conference centered foodways, defined as “the eating habits, culinary practices and food/health beliefs of a people, region or historical period, focusing on the medicinal, sociological, cultural, psychological and/or historical uses of food.”

The Center for Nutrition & Health Impact team enjoyed face time with colleagues from the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children Community Innovation and Outreach Project (WIC CIAO) colleagues, including WIC CIAO subgrantees, project advisors and Project Team partners from the Food Research & Action Center (FRAC) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition Service (USDA, FNS). While at the conference, Dr. Anderson Steeves transitioned her leadership role as Chair of the Public Health Nutrition (PHN) Division of SNEB to Center colleagues Dr. Kelseanna Hollis Hansen (incoming Chair and WIC CIAO Program Advisor) and Dr. Marissa McElrone (Chair-Elect and WIC CIAO Program Advisor). Dr. Emily Duffy planned to lead the DigiTech Division meeting, present her dissertation work and a Healthy Eating Research (HER)-funded review. However, she was unable to attend due to illness.

Dr. Zigmont is an associate editor for the Journal of Nutrition, Education and Behavior (JNEB, SNEB’s journal) and participated in workshops with potential authors to learn more about the journal and get feedback on manuscripts during the Rapid Reviews and Waking up with JNEB – Coffee with JNEB sessions.
