Food Story
Raised in the heart of the Central Valley, CA, Nylah grew up surrounded by agricultural land abundant with fruit orchards, almond trees, and other crops. This immersion in food from the ground up deepened her interest in exploring the intersection of nutrition, food security, and chronic disease. This interest was further shaped by her environment and lived experiences. Passionate about public health, she looks forward to applying her Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics to examine this relationship and promote equitable food access for all. In her free time, she enjoys baking treats like banana bread and sweet potato brownies, as well as seeking out unique recipes from diverse cultures and dietary traditions.
