2026 American Diabetes Association Scientific Sessions
American Diabetes Association Scientific Sessions • June 4-8, New Orleans, Louisiana
Attendees: Director of Scientific Strategy Dr. Carmen Byker Shanks and CNHI partner Kelli Wilson Begay.
Overview: CNHI staff attended the American Diabetes Association (ADA) Scientific Sessions, where leading researchers, clinicians, and healthcare professionals shared the latest advances in diabetes prevention, treatment, and care. The conference provided an opportunity to increase the visibility of CNHI's research while connecting with collaborators across the diabetes field.
Dr. Carmen Byker Shanks presented final findings from an American Diabetes Association-funded Produce Prescription Program for Type 2 Diabetes through a poster presentation and contributed as a co-author on two additional posters focused on the development of a Diabetes Plate Index. During the meeting, CNHI also met with ADA collaborators to discuss updates to the Diabetes Plate, connected with project partners, and visited a Market Umbrella farmers market to engage with collaborators supporting implementation of the ADA-funded project.
